MILLERS Barn's CHAPS seniors played their Charity Cup and the contest was won by Mel White, with an astounding nett score of 57.
This was a five-under-par round.
White, playing off a 19 handicap, scored gross 37 on the front nine and gross 39 on the back nine, giving him a round of 76-19-57.
Second place went to Mick Brown, coming home on a two-under-par nett 60.
His round was made up of a gross 40 on the front nine and a gross 44 on the back nine, giving a round of 84-24-60.
Third spot went to Rick Licence, also having an excellent round and finishing spot on par.
His round consisted of a gross 42 on the front nine and a gross 42 on the back nine, giving him a very respectable 84-22-62.
Also worth a mention was the performance of Frank Warbey (81-18-63), who was one over par, and Doug Chaplin (84-20-64).
Both Peter Thurlow and Jeff Cripps were also in the 60s, with nett 65s.
Thurlow beat Cripps on countback.
