AS the Clacton and District Table Tennis League season enters its final weeks, Brotherhood D recorded their third successive whitewash win in division two to move to within seven points of the top of the table.

The talented Brotherhood trio of Russell Hillier, Lee Harvey and Paul Alden enjoyed an impressive 10-0 victory against a Nomads Tigers side who, at the start of the season, harboured their own promotion hopes.

The two closest matches saw Alden beat John Marshall 11-7 in the fifth and Phil Wolski 11-9 in the fifth.

Leaders Brotherhood H had an 8-2 success over bottom team Windsor Magpies, with Grant Sharpe and Graham Parkes unbeaten.

John Wrigley, making a rare appearance for Brotherhood, took one.

Jason Lloyd and Ethan Lloyd took trebles as Nomads Bobcats defeated Brotherhood I 8-2. Andrew Cawley's two wins included an excellent 11-9 in the decider success over Mark Ratcliffe.

It ended all-square between Walton C and Windsor Buzzards, with the Buzzards claiming their first draw of the season.

Rivhu Khan won three and John Bonner two for Walton, while Ray Chillingworth got a couple for the Buzzards.

Nomads Jaguars beat Nomads Pumas 8-2, with the closest match seeing Kevin Hume and Andrew North edge the doubles 11-9 in the fifth against Eric Lemke and Lionel Goddard.

In division three, second-placed Nomads Wildcats beat Nomads Ocelots 10-0, with John Houghton having to battle hard before beating Dominic Joannou 11-8 in the decider and Martin Cunningham 13-11 in the decider.

Windsor Penguins were 6-4 winners against Windsor Ospreys.

There was a treble for Robbie Strutt, of the Ospreys, who defeated Alan Charman 11-6 in the fifth and Debra Found 12-10 in the fifth.

Nomads Caracals beat Brotherhood G 7-3, with Denise Thompson winning her three and Chris Jones two.

Stuart Wilkinson and Dave Wright took hat-tricks in Nomads Leopards' 9-1 win over Brotherhood J.

Roger McNaughton won two but went down to Harley Wood, who took Wright close before losing 13-11 in the fifth.

In division one, Sam Hume, Gill Locke and John Monk, of Nomads Panthers, eased past Walton B 10-0 with only one match extended to a fourth set.

Brotherhood B defeated Lawford 9-1, with Martin Edwards and Gracie Edwards unbeaten.

Gracie had to come from behind to beat Richard Spence 3-11, 3-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-7 while the two Edwards had a tight 11-9 in the fifth doubles win over Spence and Ian Sherwood.

Windsor Eagles were 9-1 victors against Windsor Hawks, with Phil Smith and John Pattrick taking trebles.

It was good to see Sue Welham back in action. Her two wins including a hard-fought 12-10 in the decider success over Elliott Attrill.

Brotherhood C defeated Walton A 7-3, with Kevin Gowlett and Alan Burgess unbeaten, as were Roger Hance and Adam Wilkin as Nomads Lions beat Windsor Owls 8-2.

n The closing date for the Closed Championships, which take place on April 22 and 23, is Saturday, April 1.

The entry qualification is seven league matches.

n The Windsor club's quiz evening is being held on Saturday.
