CLACTON Archers members enjoyed medal success at a contest hosted by Braintree Bowmen.

The competition was an indoor shoot at Gosfield School.

All archers shot a Worcester Round, which consisted of five dozen arrows at 20 yards.

Four Clacton members attended, including two members from the junior league.

Shooting recurve, Jon Tate won gold in the under-18s category with a score of 292 out of a possible 300.

Daisy Simpson took bronze in the under-14 category, shooting recurve, while Bruce Parker scored a maximum 300 points with his compound bow, giving him the gold medal and joint-first overall.

Jon Tate and Nick Tate took silver in the family class.

Meanwhile, Clacton Archers' annual indoor competition had to be cancelled due to their venue being used for the Jaywick evacuation.

The competition has been rescheduled for Sunday, February 26 at Tendring Education Centre. There are still a few places available for archers in the morning and afternoon sessions.
