CLACTON'S Essex Men's Superleague team are still unbeaten in 2017 after drawing 6-6 at Rayleigh Rascals.

In the process they notched eight 180s.

Wayne Bloomfield (23.55) and 180-scoring Andrew Currivan (29.44, comb 26.34) got Clacton off to a great start as they defeated Steve Kiamil (27.67) and Lewis Gilson (23.72, comb 25.69).

Keith Farthing (23.60) and Adrian Genery (19.40, comb 21.50) ran into a brick wall as Ben Adams (31.18) and Daniel Sare (31.40, comb 31.28) were in brilliant form and completed the 1001 leg in 32 darts, including a maximum 180 from Sare.

Clacton restored the lead with a brilliant display by Nic Groves (31.11) and Jason Evans (24.50, comb 27.81).

The duo scored six consecutive 100+ scores and could have had a huge average if it wasn’t for using nine darts to finish 43.

They defeated Lennie Holmes (21.83) and Terry Rose (15.07).

The last pairs game saw 180-hitting Keith Wright (22.85) and Alan Currivan (15.33, comb 19.31) rue nine missed darts at double as they lost against Phil Daldry (18.22) and Aaron Searle (20.36, comb 19.25).

Bloomfield (24.64) produced his customary 3-0 victory as he defeated Searle (21.90) with winning legs of 23, 16 and 22 darts.

Wright (23.22) lost his opening leg against Gilson (19.44).

Wright dug deep and hit a maximum 180 of his own as he won the next three legs to win 3-1.

Groves (24.85) found himself 2-0 down against Holmes (24.11), but dug in and pegged Holmes back to 2-2.

In the deciding leg, Groves narrowly missed the bullseye for a 164 finish and Holmes won the leg in 17 darts to claim a 3-2 victory.

Farthing (23.37) started the opening leg of his game with 60, followed by back-to-back maximum 180s.

He stumbled slightly on the finishing but as Sare missed double five for a 130 finish, Farthing stepped in and won the leg in 17 darts.

Sare (27.69) started the next leg with a maximum 180 of his own and won the leg in just 14 darts.

Sare won the next leg in 21 darts before hitting a second maximum 180, winning the match 3-1 with a 19-dart leg.

Evans (29.47) was quick to restore Clacton’s lead as he continued his excellent form in the Essex Superleague.

He defeated former Essex county man Kiamil (23.15) 3-0, including a maximum 180 with winning legs of 21, 16 and 14 darts.

Evans claimed his first man-of-the-match award for Clacton and remains unbeaten with five wins from five.

Genery (21.47) ensured Clacton had at least a draw to take back up the A12.

Aided by a maximum 180, he ran out a 3-0 winner against former Essex county player Daldry (19.81).

Alan Currivan (19.42) saw his woes continue as he lost 3-1 against the high-scoring Rose (25.24).

The last game of the night put the hopes of a Clacton win in the hands of Andrew Currivan (22.52).

He was up against another former Essex county man in Adams (22.52).

Currivan found himself 2-1 up, winning both his legs against the throw.

Currivan then rued four missed darts at doubles to secure the victory and Adams levelled before going on to win the deciding leg in 21 darts for a 3-2 victory.
