Brightlingsea bow out of the Alan Turvey Trophy
BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent bowed out of the Alan Turvey Trophy tonight after a 2-1 defeat at Billericay Town.
Billy Bricknell scored both goals for the hosts, either side of the break, before Regent forced a 69th-minute own goal from Danny Fitzsimons.
However, they were unable to force a leveller and Billericay have now knocked Brightlingsea out of three cup competitions this season, having previously enjoyed success in the FA Cup and Essex Senior Cup.
