CLACTON Golf Club's seniors travelled to Harwich and Dovercourt to compete in the 2016 Cyril Rand Trophy.

Shortly after the death of this very popular former member of both clubs, it was decided to hold a match in his memory.

Wife Janet Rand thanked all the competitors and announced that Harwich were the winners by 6½ matches to 4½.

She then awarded the trophy to Harwich captain P Brown and said she hopes to see all the players at next year’s match at Clacton.
