FRINTON Lawn Tennis Club hosted a junior American tournament.

Ninety-two entrants came along to support the event, which was sponsored by the Royal Hospital School, in Holbrook.

In division A, Freddie White Law and Freya Harrison beat Hamish Rowe and Georgia Black 6-2.

In division B, Kit Morley-Jacob and Elise Berry defeated Patrick Barker and Isobel McInnes 6-3.

Barker and McInnes had never played as a pair, so did well to reach the final.

The division C winners were Guy Morley-Jacob and Jemima Long, who beat Marc Leighton and Phoebe Name 6-2.

Club members who received handicap prizes were Ben McInnes, Alex Skinner, Alicia Middleton, James and John Letts, in their first-ever tournament together, George Cole, Georgia Mosey, Matthew Gearing and Matilda Ketterer.

Meanwhile, Mary Milner hosted the club's second home mixed invitational tournament, with beginners, intermediate and advanced players playing for points over five rounds.

Committee members Roy Coulter and Milner played alongside fellow club members and non-members for a shot at winning the crystal trophy on offer.

The overall winners, with 17 points apiece, were Tony Fulcher and Deborah Lawrence, who share the trophy for a year.

Mike McLain hosted the club's second men's invitational tournament.

Another fun-packed evening ensued, with gold medals awarded to Tony Sanderson and Julian Todd and silver medals to Phil Gray and Jason Everett.

The bronze medal was awarded to current mixed restricted champion James Blackman, who delivered a whopping 147mph serve.
