PETER Webster hosted his Captain’s Day on a sunny day at Frinton Golf Club.
It was a full field and entailed a four ball better ball in the morning, followed by an afternoon competition on the Kirby course.
The scoring was very close.
Adrian Joshua and Leo Knifton won the day with 64 points.
Following, with 63, were Chris Taylor and Frank Thorpe and Simon Martin-Redman and Simon Partridge were third, with 62.
Taylor was also nearest the pin on two holes - the eighth and 13th.
The ladies competed in the annual Ping four ball better ball event and Yvonne Davies and Margaret Dean came out on top with an amazing 43 points.
Second place went to Jan McLellan and Lyn Lawrence, with 41.
Two teams scored 40, with third place awarded on countback to Michelle Lawton and Caroline Gard.
Davies and Dean may go on to another round.
Twenty-seven seniors enjoyed an excellent away day at Uffield Park.
The course provided a fair challenge for golfers of all abilities.
Congratulations to Keith Banks for the best score on the day, followed by Gill Harding (the younger) and Trevor Hales.
