FRINTON'S men's D team took the honours in a thrilling match at home to Lexden.

Following a 5-4 loss in the first meeting between the sides, captain Lee Milner changed the dynamics of his team to secure an impressive 9-0 victory.

Jerry Wedge and Bill Greeno, playing for the first time as a pair, had scores of 8-0, 8-0 and 8-2, while James Blackman and Rob Ellen delivered great scores of 8-2, 8-3 and 8-6.

Milner and junior doubles partner Michael Hartnett achieved scores of 8-2 and 8-5, with a nailbiting tie-break finale resulting in an 8-7 success.

Frinton now have a fighting chance of being in the upper echelons of the league table at the end of the season.

Milner said: "The squad have excellent qualities but I needed to take a chance and change the pairs to deliver a win.

"I had to drop great players, but the result speaks for itself.

"Lexden were awesome opponents, but my team delivered in spectacular style and it was a great feeling."
