SOME of Great Britain's most talented young players battled it out at Frinton Lawn Tennis Club.

The club hosted the Aegon British Tour, an event that proved to be a roaring success played out in front of a good crowd.

A circuit of tournaments take place on the Tour that provide up-and-coming players with an opportunity to gain experience, in their quest to become professional tennis players.

The Tour prides itself on its high standard and is a national level, open competition.

The tournaments are predominantly Grade One (Premier and Tier One) or Grade Two (Tier Two).

They are primarily aimed at performance players with a rating of 4.2 or better, although any rated player may enter.

Holly Hutchinson beat Mollie Crouch 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in the ladies' final, while in the men’s competition, Tom Hands beat Marcus Walters 6-1, 6-1.

Awards were presented by the Tour umpire, Chris Matthews and tournament director, Kimberley Willetts.

There was also an opportunity for Frinton Lawn Tennis Club’s ball boys and girls to showcase their skills.
