CLACTON horse racing pundit and writer Dave Youngman is celebrating a big success.

Cunco, the first progeny of the great Frankel and a horse he had tipped for success, not only ran but won.

It landed Youngman and his huge band of followers, including many in Australia, a huge bet.

On the same day, Ulysses, another horse he had tipped for success in the Gazette, also won, by eight lengths.

Youngman said it was especially satisfying to see the first Frankel offspring win as he had tipped it to do well to his Racing Club members.

At 7-2, they filled their boots and made big profits.

Youngman, known as the Newmarket Insider, recently visited Frankel at the Stud in Newmarket.

The legendary horse looked brilliant and has just finished his fourth covering season.

Although Cunco won, he is not the best son of Frankel in training, according to Youngman.

He believes the best will not be running until the end of August.

Youngman has been very busy watching them work on both the Newmarket gallops and at Lambourn.

These are exciting times for the Clacton pundit.

"We have a lot of horses that have yet to see the racecourse but are an exciting prospect for us us," he said.

"New World Power, trained by Roger Varian, is a winner in waiting.

"It had a quiet race on debut recently and is now working like a good horse."

Youngman is also monitoring the Frankel offspring that are trained in Ireland, France and Australia.
