JUNIOR Lily Taylor won Frinton Golf Club's Lorna Farebrother Four Club stableford competition with a score of 39 points.

The only lady in the event, she finished comfortably ahead of Mark Doyle and Colin Shaw, both with 34 points.

Doyle was awarded second place on countback.

In the ladies' bogey/par event, three ladies finished with a score of -7.

Yvonne Davies was awarded first place on countback, ahead of Tracey Taylor and then Ginny Richardson.

The Ferrets played a qualifier.

Twenty-six men participated.

Peter Irwin continued his winning ways, coming out in front with 35 points.

Five men garnered 31 points, but, on countback, Freddie Brett was awarded second place, ahead of Roger Deeble.

The others on 31 points were Adrian Joshua, Brian Foscew and Iain Quick.

Over on the Kirby course, Patricia Freear won the stableford competition with 33 points.

Viv Stansfield was in second place with a close 32 points and third went to Elizabeth Lewis, with 29.
