THERE was a sea of Great Bentley Running Club blue at Harwich Runners’ inaugural 10km event at Little Bromley.

The men’s stand-out performance came from Chris Warren, who secured a personal best of 36 minutes and 21 seconds.

Warren took 17th place and became the ninth-fastest man of all time for Bentley over the 10km distance.

Following him home for the men were other personal best performances from Tom Fowler in 40m 6s and Andy Stephens, who smashed over four minutes off his previous best to hit the line in 43m 28s.

As usual, the ladies were led home by Vicky Presland, who had another amazing run, finishing in 52nd place – fifth lady overall.

Presland secured a PB, first place in her age category and flew to the top of the all-time Bentley performance list for 10k.

Lorna Sharp also completed the course in a personal best 51m 18s and Louise Reeve smashed her best time by over six minutes with 58m 58s.

In total, there were 35 runners from Bentley on the start line at Bromley.
