BROTHERHOOD E boosted their survival chances in Clacton and District League division two with a hard-fought 8-2 victory against relegation rivals Nomads Jaguars.

However, it was a close-run thing for Brotherhood, who took four of the five matches that went the distance.

Rodney Betts and Duncan Dunne both recorded hat-tricks, with Betts defeating Caroline North 11-8 in the fifth and Andrew North 11-7 in the fifth, while Dunne overcame Andrew North 11-8 in the decider and Kevin Hume 13-11 in the decider.

Tony Edmonds won a couple for Brotherhood but surprisingly lost in three-straight to Hume.

Brotherhood E and the Jaguars are now locked together on 38 points, seven ahead of Windsor Magpies, with Brotherhood having a game in hand. Five of the matches went the distance between top team Windsor Owls and bottom team Windsor Magpies, before the Owls emerged 7-3 winners.

Mark Salter won three and Tricia Salter two for the Owls, while Dan Wright played well to take two for the Magpies.

Nomads Tigers came away with an 8-2 win against Brotherhood H.

There were trebles for Daryl Lott and Roger Hance and a couple for John Marshall.

Maurice Hardy and Jonathan Found won two each for Brotherhood I in their drawn match with Nomads Bobcats.

Nomads’ Tony Robinson had a tiring evening, beating Hardy 12-10 in the decider and Tom Wilkin 13-11 in the decider, but losing 11-8 in the fifth to Found.

In division three, Walton D drew with Nomads Leopards.

Walton’s Lynette Sparks beat both Ethan Lloyd and Norman Jacobs 11-7 in the fifth.

Jacobs won a crucial point for the Leopards with a victory over Toni Hayhow-Khan.

It was also all-square in the all-Windsor clash between the Kites and the Ospreys.

Chris Simson stayed unbeaten for the Kites.

Debra Found and Millie Easton each won two for the Ospreys and Maci Harvey one.

Five of the matches went to five as Windsor Penguins scraped past Windsor Swallows 6-4.

Alan Charman’s treble for the Penguins included close five-set victories against Kayley Lamb and Iris Howlett.

Howlett won a couple for the losers.

In division one, Nomads Panthers defeated Windsor Eagles 7-3, with Sam Hume taking three and denying Gary Cattermole his own hat-trick 11-7 in the decider.

Windsor Condors were 8-2 winners against Brotherhood B. Greg Green and Martin Hogg were unbeaten while Elliott Attrill had an 11-6 in the fifth victory over John Owen.

No-one stayed undefeated as Windsor Hawks edged past Brotherhood C 6-4.

Felipe Rodriguez and Andy Vincent won two each for the Hawks, as did Ollie Reynolds and Alan Burgess for Brotherhood.

John Rankin and Paul Woolnough recorded first trebles of the season as Walton B beat Brotherhood D 9-1, while Windsor Kestrels had a welcome 7-3 victory over a Nomads Lions’ side which fielded a reserve.
