CLACTON secured their first Essex Men’s Superleague victory of 2016 with an impressive display at Rayleigh Rascals.

They won 7-5, in the process recording their highest team average of the season of 25.77.

Clacton were sensational in the pairs, winning all four matches and producing an immaculate display as the team averaged 29.66.

Alan Currivan (28.28) and Keith Farthing (30.75, combined 29.44) got them off to a great start, winning in 34 darts against Phil Daldry (21.44) and Steve Kiamil (30.07, combined 25.36). Curtis Hammond (25.70) and Adrian Genery (27.06, combined 26.34) defeated Dave Solly (17.24) and Mick Peel (34.50, combined 25.21).

Eddie Keary (27.13) and the impressive Andrew Currivan (42.43, combined 34.52) were in scintillating form as Currivan hit a maximum 180 and scored for fun as the duo won in 29 darts against 180-scoring Lennie Holmes (35.67) and Michael Pinnington (18.83, combined 28.19).

Wayne Bloomfield (27.67) and Nic Groves (31.44, combined 29.44) picked up their customary victory with a fine display against Terry Stillaway (21.67) and Nick Benson (17.72, combined 19.69).

The first game in the singles saw Bloomfied (25.05) romp to a 3-0 victory against Stillaway (21.98).

Then Keary (29.29) produced his best game in the league as he overcome county man Solly (27.51) 3-1, with the Rayleigh man winning his leg in 13 darts.

Keary claimed Clacton’s man-of-the-match prize.

Andrew Currivan (19.61) lost 3-1 against Daldry (21.35), while Farthing (19.83) suffered a 3-0 defeat against Pinnington (19.52).

Alan Currivan (23.20) was on the wrong end of another 3-2 game as he rued two missed darts at 32 to win his game against Benson (24.45).

Genery (21.70) forgot his darts and had to play with a different set as he lost out 3-2 against Kiamil (22.85).

Hammond (27.23) hit back-to-back 180s in the opening leg of his game as he continued his good form by defeating county man Holmes (24.16) 3-1.

Groves (23.53) lost out 3-0 in the last game of the night against Rayleigh man-of-the-match Peel (27.83).
