CLACTON Indoor Bowls Club’s A, B and C teams played in the over-60s County League.

However, they lost out in all three matches.

Clacton A suffered defeat against Colchester A, by 32 shots to 41.

The away team, which consisted of Dave West, Vic Hall, Andy Jeffrey and Lincoln Townrow, beat Colchester A 18-14 but the home team lost 27-14.

Clacton B lost against Falcon B, 46-37.

The home team – Chas Creighton, Ken Gaylor, Joe Crane and Harry Manning – won 28-18.

However, the away team lost 28-9.

Clacton C lost against Essex County C, 55-22.

They were defeated in both their home and away games.

Meanwhile, Clacton’s ladies played a friendly away to Falcon.

Although Clacton lost 99-69, the day was very enjoyable and a number of novice bowlers competed, giving them the opportunity to experience an away game.

Captain Stella Newell was on holiday so Jean Taylor took charge for the day.

The highest winning team for Clacton was rink three – Sue Cunningham, Ann Smith and Edna Clifford.
