CLACTON secured their first Essex Men’s Superleague A division victory of October, with an 8-4 success at home to Basildon Q-Ball.

They handed a debut to new signing and current PDC tour card holder Curtis Hammond.

Eddie Keary (28.67) and Peter Barton (22.17, combined 25.67) defeated Keith Thorne (26.71) and Nigel Buckle (19.44, combined 23.36).

Alan Currivan (19.52) and Dave Bokenham (21.38, combined 20.43) got off to a slow start against Mark Derby (18.17) and Simon Ramage (21.04, combined (19.60).

Currivan then checked out on tops with the Basildon pair waiting on 60.

Hammond (23.90) got off to a dream start with partner Adrian Genery (27.72, combined 25.67), hitting a maximum 180.

The duo left their opponents on 200, claiming victory against Dave Evans (20.10) and Paul Brown (21.06, combined 20.54) The last pairs game saw Clacton claim a clean sweep as Wayne Bloomfield (31.06) and Andrew Currivan (29.47, combined (30.33) won in just 33 darts.

Bloomfield checked out with a brilliant 102 finish to defeat Danny Smith (21.93) and Daniel Kiamil (24.60, combined 23.27).

Bloomfield (23.90) was first on in the singles against Paul Hurley (19.88).

Hurley took the first leg before Bloomfield hit back, rounding off a 3-1 victory with a 16-dart leg where he also hit a maximum 174.

Alan Currivan (21.14) was up against Thorne (22.02).

He won the third leg in 18 darts to go 2-1 up, but Thorne stepped in to level at 2-2.

In the deciding leg, Thorne missed tops for a 114 finish and allowed Currivan a shot at 87.

However, he could not capitalise and Thorne secured a 3-2 victory.

Keary (27.76) won his opening leg against Smith (23.09) with a brilliant 13-dart leg, but Smith was quick to peg Keary back, winning the next two legs with finishes of 65 and 100.

Keary hit a maximum 180 in the third leg, levelled the game with a 19-dart leg and started the fifth with another maximum 180.

He put himself on a double after 12 darts and secured the win, despite having to settle for a 19-dart leg as he missed doubles.

Barton (24.15) found himself 2-0 down against Kiamil (23.09).

However, he won the third leg and then squared the game up with an 18-dart leg, aided by a 74 finish.

In the deciding leg, Kiamil checked out on 74 to secure another Basildon point.

Genery (28.39) lost his opening leg against Ramage (21.71).

However, he won the second with a 14-dart leg, which included a maximum 180.

The Clacton player then won the third leg in 16 darts and rounded off a 3-1 victory, winning in 21 darts.

In the process, he claimed his second man-of-the-match award.

Bokenham (19.41) found himself 2-0 up against Buckle (23.07) and eventually lost 3-1.

Andrew Currivan (23.41) hit a maximum 180 as he won his opening leg with Derby (23.93).

Derby then won the next two legs in 19 and 21 darts, before Currivan levelled by taking out 76.

In the last leg, Currivan started with scores of 140 and 100 and left himself on 71 after 18 darts, but Derby stepped up and checked out on 84 for a 3-2 win.

The last game saw a solid performance for Hammond (25.91) against Ian Whiskin (22.35).

He won the opening leg before hitting his second 180, on his way to winning the second leg with a sensational 11-dart leg.

Hammond rounded off a great night for Clacton as he secured a 3-0 victory.
