BRIGHTLINGSEA REGENT and MALDON & TIPTREE both had successful nights in the Ryman League.

Regent made it three straight division north victories courtesy of a 3-1 triumph at AFC Sudbury.

Luke Read was on target again, also for the third game running, but the Suffolk side soon responded through former Heybridge Swifts goal king Luke Callander.

However, Terry Rymer netted his first goal since returning to Brightlingsea on 65 minutes.

And Josh Gould made the points safe three minutes later.

It was Regent’s second away game in a row and, by a strange quirk of the fixture list, their next two are also on the road, at Redbridge on Saturday and Heybridge Swifts next Tuesday.

Maldon were involved in a nine-goal thriller against Wroxham, eventually prevailing 5-4 after leading 4-0 and 5-1.

Darren Mills gave them a dream start after three minutes before Kieran Monlouis netted from 20 yards.

Femi Akinwande coolly slotted home just before the break to make it 3-0.

Matt Lock headed a fourth just after the restart and although Wroxham soon pulled one back, Nnamdi Nwachuku pounced to make it 5-1.

Wroxham then netted three more times, including a penalty, to make it a nervous last few minutes for the Jammers.
