FC CLACTON eased into the FA Vase first-round proper after scoring an avalanche of goals at Newbury Forest.
The Seasiders thumped their Essex Olympian League hosts 7-0.
But it was only in the second period that they really flexed their muscles, scoring six of their goals.
Elsewhere, WIVENHOE TOWN bowed out after losing 1-0 at home to Essex Senior League side Basildon United.
The only goal came from a header in the first half.
It was a disappointing way to start October, especially as last month had ended with boss Mo Osman being named as the Thurlow Nunn League division one manager-of-the-month for September.
BRANTHAM ATHLETIC got back on track following a 4-2 victory against Spartan South Midlands League side Brimsdown.
The Imps had lost 2-0 at Clacton in a Thurlow Nunn League match on Tuesday night.
HALSTEAD TOWN’S Vase run ended at the hands of Sporting Bengal United, as the Humbugs lost 4-0.
