HOLLAND FC are preparing for a pivotal few days.
The coastal club can be crowned Essex and Suffolk Border League runners-up tomorrow – if they defeat champions West Bergholt.
And the side could find out as soon as today whether their application for step five football has been successful.
Holland applied to go up and are now waiting for the FA’s final verdict, regarding their possible promotion to the Thurlow Nunn League.
“It’s going to be a very exciting few days,” said chairman Mark Sorrell.
“But whatever happens, it’s already been a great season – the best in our history.
“We’re due to find out about our promotion in the next few days – possibly tomorrow – and we’ve just got to wait and see what the verdict is.
“I honestly don’t know which way it’s going to go, but I’m philosophical.
“If we’re allowed to go up, it would be fantastic.
“If not, it’ll be a bit of a setback but we’ll dust ourselves down and look forward to another season of Border League football.”
