FRINTON Cricket Club skipper Mark Jones believes his side are starting to show their East Anglian Premier League pedigree.
The coastal club notched their first victory of the season after beating Burwell by 85 runs, in front of a bumper home crowd at Ashlyns Road on Saturday.
It followed encouraging performances against last season’s runners-up and champions, Great Witchingham and Swardeston respectively. A delighted Jones said: “It’s great to get a win under our belt and we’re proving we can compete at this level.
“Kyran Young (29) and Matt Foakes (45 not out) were outstanding with the bat and Kyran then matched that with the ball (taking five for 54).
“There are still areas we have to improve on but I know our supporters enjoyed this one and, as a team, we would like to dedicate this victory to them.”
