CLACTON and District Indoor Bowls Club brought the curtain down on their winter season by holding a presentation night.
The winners were presented with their trophies by president Dave West.
Results: Ladies’ novice: Tracy Kinton. Ladies’ pairs: Patricia Scott and Stella Newell. Ladies’ triples: Brenda Bullett, June Morris and Stella Newell. Ladies’ fours: Carole Batchelor, Joyce Hill, Carole Rose and Pauline Swift. Ladies’ singles: Roni (Veronica) Simpson. Mike French Triples: Mick Lamb, Sandra Harris and Alan Baxter. Mixed pairs: Jackie Flatman and Mark Hemstedt. Men’s novice singles: Victor Pitt. Men’s pairs: Jim Pallett and Kevin Jackson. Men’s triples: Mark Hemstedt, Lincoln Townrow and Harry Manning. Men’s fours: Ray Collins, Brian Hobbs, Joe Crane and Laurie Freeman. Men’s singles: Ian Harwood.
Each year the club supports a charity of the president’s choice and this year it was Benin Christian Support.
A cheque for £705 was presented to Maureen Saunders and Deniz Hazel by West.
The club has seen an increase in members since September and their total number is now more than 500.
They hope to gain more from their open days, being held later in the year.
