FC CLACTON are now five points from safety as a result of rivals Wivenhoe Town drawing 1-1 at Stanway Rovers tonight.

The result lifted Mo Osman’s men five points clear of the third-from-bottom Seasiders, who picked up their first victory of 2015 by winning 4-1 at Ely on Saturday.

Clacton do have a game in hand on their neighbours and, intriguingly, the sides are due to meet at the Rush Green Bowl on Easter Monday.

For FC Clacton news and views don’t miss this week’s Gazette – out on Thursday.
