HOLLAND Shore Amateur Boxing Club’s Tyler Upchurch celebrated an impressive victory on the Colchester show, outpointing Martin Ward.
Upchurch started well, controlling the ring centre against the Finchley boxer.
Time and again, Ward walked forward but was met with sharp left hands, followed by short right uppercuts and left-hook combinations.
The second round followed the same pattern.
St Osyth-based Upchurch was too strong and classy and again controlled a tough round.
In the third, Ward again tried to get in close and unsettle Upchurch.
However, he was now begining to tire, while Upchurch’s fitness and constant combination punches were still finding their mark and he ran out a convincing unanimous points winner.
