HOLLAND Shore Amateur Boxing Club’s Cain Upchurch contested his second skills bout in as many weeks, on the Berry Boys Show at Laindon.

He was up against Landsbury’s James Fearney.

With both boys well-schooled, the contest was hard and fast from the first bell.

Blake Housman was also in action and took on Fearney’s twin brother, Johnny.

The Holland Shore boxer again showed good technical ability and sharp hand speed.

His fast, left-hand punches found their mark and he opened up with sharp combination punches.

Housman met his opponent head on in the second round, as both boys worked hard in the middle of the ring.

He then raised the pace in the third round, letting his opponent walk on to sharp counter-punches as another skills bout ended with both boys showing their potential.

Tyler Upchurch was also in action for Holland Shore, against St Alban’s John McCartney.

He got off to a fast start, using the ring and landing well-placed counter punches.

Upchurch then began to raise his work-rate in the second round, as combination punches found their mark.

McCartney stayed in contention and finished the round well.

Knowing he may have been a little behind going into the third round, the St Osyth-based boxer constantly kept his opponent backed up to the ropes before unloading with sharp combinations.

However, after a convincing round, he lost out on a close points decision.
