THE Tendring Summer League held its finals and presentation night at Clacton Railway Club.

Thirty-two players competed for the Tendring Premier League singles title and the winner was Bryan Margerison (Duffers).

He was victorious after defeating Gavin Payne (Double Trouble) in the final, taking home the trophy and £100.

In the ladies’ Premier League singles, four players battled it out and, in the semi-finals, Cheryl Horn (The Club) defeated team-mate Karen Breen (The Club), while Joan Barnes (Thorpe Social) saw off Sarah Self (Trafalgar).

In the final, Barnes was crowned champion, winning £50, after gaining victory against Horn.

In the Captains’ Cup, Darren O’Neill (The Crown) defeated Andrew Currivan (Duffers).

He completed a remarkable season after captaining his team to the A division league title, being league singles winner, the pairs winner and threes winner, recording the most tons and then clinching the Captains’ Cup.

Steve Lucas senior (The Club) was awarded the trophy for being the most sporting individual.
