HEAD coach Matthew Watson has left Kirby Tennis Club after being given an opportunity “too good to turn down”.
The 30-year-old has taken up a position at the Elena Baltacha Academy of Tennis, in Ipswich.
Watson had been at Kirby for 12 years and also coached in schools and sports centres across Tendring.
“It was a really hard decision and not one I’ve taken lightly,” he said.
“The offer had been there for a while and I agonised over it, because I’ve always enjoyed my job and am proud of the way we’ve built Kirby up.
“But this is such a good opportunity and, in the end, it was too good to turn down."
