WIVENHOE TOWN and STANWAY ROVERS kept their FA Vase dreams alive with victories on Saturday afternoon.

Both won 2-1, against Takeley and Barking respectively.

Goals from Ben Parkin and Peter Maina early in each half gave the Dragons victory at the Maple Tree Cars Stadium.

Richie Meadows and Ray Turner continued their excellent goal-scoring form by finding the back of the net for Rovers.

Sadly it wasn’t such a good day for HALSTEAD TOWN, who bowed out of the competition after a 2-1 defeat at home to Broxbourne Borough.

In the Thurlow Nunn League premier division, FC CLACTON notched their first victory after a brilliant 4-0 success at Haverhill Rovers.

Terry Rymer scored twice – his first goals since re-joining the Seasiders – and he was joined on the score-sheet by Aaron Condon and Billy Wales.

Shaun Webb grabbed the only goal as BRANTHAM ATHLETIC triumphed 1-0 at home to Fakenham.
