FC CLACTON are definitely staying up this season, according to super-confident striker Tom Holdstock.

The front man continued his explosive form with a stunning late leveller in Tuesday’s 2-2 draw against Tendring rivals Brightlingsea Regent.

And it came hot on the heels of another goal in Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Norwich United, also in the Thurlow Nunn League at the Rush Green Bowl.

Those strikes swelled his tally to three in as many games and Holdstock is sure the Seasiders will be clear of danger by the end of the season in May.

“We’ll definitely stay up,” he said.

“I’m sure we’ll be in this division again next season and the reason I’m so confident is because of the fight and quality in our team.

“There’s so much togetherness.

“We all get on well, go out together and enjoy lots of banter in training and that’s reflected in the way we play."

Clacton host CRC tomorrow in a 3pm kick-off at the Rush Green Bowl.
