Championship hat-trick for golfer Jason

CLACTON professional Jason Levermore won the Essex Professional Championship, held at Frinton Golf Club.

It was the third consecutive year he had won the event.

He finished ten under par after finishing with very impressive scores of 67 and 65. It is the same trophy his dad – Clacton head professional – Stuart Levermore won in 1983.

In joint second were trainees Chris Cutchie, from Colchester, and James Scade, from Regiment Way, with a two-round total of 142.

Cutchie took the trainee championship on countback, using the afternoon score.

First-time senior Mark Stokes took the Seniors Trophy with a two-round total of 144.

Meanwhile, the winner of Clacton’s Lifeboat Cup was Malcolm Pitcher with a net 65.
