Turner setting the Seasiders a pre-Christmas target

FC CLACTON boss Ray Turner has set his players a pre-Christmas target.

The Seasiders manager has spotted that his side have ten Thurlow Nunn League fixtures before the festive period – and is determined to kick that run off with a victory on Saturday.

His second-from-bottom side travel to the one team below them in the premier division table, Felixstowe and Walton.

And he believes his troops are more than capable of pocketing three points and then taking their tally to 20 by the time they head to Brantham on Boxing Day.

“I’m always setting targets and there are lot of points to play for,” said Turner.

“Felixstowe are struggling and if we can beat them we can start building before Christmas.

“Including that match, we’ve got ten league games and that’s 30 points.

“If we could get 20, we’d be in good form and looking upwards heading into the New Year.

“That will be part of my team-talk this weekend and, with a bit more luck and ruthlessness, I’m confident we can turn things round.”
