Andrews is hoping for extra support
3:32pm Thursday 11th October 2012 in Sport By Matt Plummer
FC CLACTON co-owner Stephen Andrews has issued a rallying cry to supporters ahead of this weekend’s home match against pace-setters Wisbech Town.
Saturday is National Non-League Day – an initiative designed to encourage fans to watch their local team, in the absence of any Premier League or Championship football.
And Andrews is hoping extra supporters might be tempted along for the visit of the Thurlow Nunn League premier division leaders (kick-off 3pm).
“National Non-League Day is a fantastic initiative that raises the profile of clubs like ours,” said Andrews.
“It’s a great opportunity for people to go and watch their local team, with no games in the top divisions because of the international break.
“We really hope to see a few extra faces at our match on Saturday.
“It would be fantastic and make a massive difference, in terms of finance."
