Dates are set for darts extravaganza

DARTS aces are preparing for a special weekend of events.
The Clacton Open will take place at the town’s Snooker Centre, in Valley Road, on Saturday, November 3.
Players have the chance to progress through various rounds, with the winner landing a £500 windfall.
The runner-up will receive £250, with the two losing semi-finalists getting £50.
The player who records the highest shot-out will also receive £50.
The entry fee is £8 per person in advance, to be paid at Clacton Snooker Centre, or £10 on the day.
Meanwhile, a Youth Open competition is being held at the same venue the following day – Sunday, November 4.
The entry fee is £5, with the winner receiving a £100 sports voucher, the runner-up getting a £50 voucher and the two losing semi-finals a £25 voucher.
The player with the highest shot-out will also receive a £25 voucher.
Doors open at 8am for both events, with players then having to sign in by 10am in time for games to start at 11am.
The two competitions have been sponsored by Clacton Snooker Centre, Homeview Surveillance, John’s Aerials, Greycurve, Swan Taxis, Masterson Leisure and Scaffold Solutions.
