Seasiders miss out on former favourite Ribchester

FC CLACTON manager Ray Turner has revealed that he tried to re-sign former favourite Chris Ribchester.

The defender starred for the Seasiders after joining in 2008/09, becoming their first player to sign an FA contract.

The following year he swept up the supporters, manager’s and players’ player-of-the-year awards before joining Heybridge Swifts last February.

He and Turner have been in contact since the latter took over as Clacton manager, but the centre-half has decided to join Stanway Rovers instead.

Clacton are on the verge of adding to their squad, though.

Lawford midfielder Reife Marangou is due to train with the squad tonight and should sign in time for Saturday’s home match against Diss Town.
