Manta is a real class act: Seasiders boss Ray

NEW FC Clacton boss Ray Turner believes he has struck gold by bringing Cristian Manta to the Rush Green Bowl.

The Romanian became Turner’s first signing after being appointed as Andy Taylor’s successor last Tuesday.

He wasted no time in repaying the manager’s faith, netting twice in Saturday’s 3-2 victory at home to Walsham-le-Willows.

And his fireworks helped the club register their first victory of the season.

“I really rate Cristian and he was my number one target, as soon as I was appointed,” said Turner.

“He’s direct, full of pace and a goal-scorer who comes alive in the box.

“He’s still a bit raw in terms of his build-up play and decision-making outside the box, but we can coach him and work on things like that.”
