1:00pm Friday 21st September 2012 in Sport By Matt Plummer
KIRBY trio Ben Harrison, Alex Brown and Matthew Watson played in the latest touchtennis tour event on the famous grass courts at Devonshire Park, in Eastbourne.
Brown had a tough fourth-round match, losing to eventual finalist Adam Hussan.
He then went on to perform really well in the consolation singles, beating world number 13 Shaun Watson and world number 46 Daniel Bourne, before losing in the final to Elliot Seabrook.
Brown teamed up with Watson to reach the semi-finals of the doubles, just missing out on a place in the final after going down to the number two seeds, 7-6.
Watson reached the quarter-finals of singles as well, but lost to number two seed Matt Golledge. Harrison reached the fourth round of the singles but lost to a tough opponent in Craig Veal.
He also reached the quarter-finals of the doubles, with Sam Cooper.
All the players enjoy the experience of playing on some amazing grass courts.
The next stop for the trio will be the Kirby 300 Series event, which will take place on October 7.
