Buxey is feeling upbeat about the new season

SKIPPER Jake Buxey believes the future looks bright for Clacton Rugby Club.

The coastal side stepped up their preparations for the new Essex League division one campaign with a thumping 75-7 victory against Tendring rivals Brightlingsea on Saturday.

And with all of last season’s squad having been retained, in addition to the continuing progress of the club’s young players, Buxey says it’s nothing but positivity at Valley Road.

“It was a very good run-out at the weekend, although it’s hard to read too much into a friendly or judge how or where we are,” he said.

“But we can certainly be satisfied with our performance, especially some of the younger players who had very good games.

“Everyone at the club is looking forward to next season and there are so many positives."
