Skipper hails star man Comber

CLACTON Cricket Club skipper Ben France described Michael Comber’s mammoth innings in Saturday’s victory against Sudbury as “awesome”.

The Seasiders stormed back to winning ways in the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League, having seen their proud unbeaten record go up in smoke against Bury St Edmunds.

They ran out two-wicket victors at Quay Lane with Comber plundering an unbeaten 159 – an innings that featured 13 fours, ten sixes and was made from just 96 balls.

“What the teams and spectators witnessed was awesome,” said France.

“It was an incredible spectacle of hard hitting, resolute defence and total destruction of a good Sudbury attack.”
