First-class Mitchell gets hands on new silverware

Mitchell Buxton has been crowned as the inaugural winner of Clacton Golf Club’s Sandie Rudkin Cup.

The silverware was presented to the club by former playing and now social member Bill Rudkin, in memory of his late wife, Sandie.

Buxton was the first winner, in the process reducing his handicap to nine, thanks to a first-class display of controlled golf.

He produced a superb score of 40 points.

In second was Jon Hewett, with 31 points, and in third was Chloe Rose, with 30.
