It's payback time for cricketer Comber
Michael Comber wants to repay the faith and loyalty shown in him by Clacton Cricket Club.
The Essex all-rounder still plays for his home-town club and produced an explosive spell of bowling as the Seasiders thrashed Saffron Walden by 110 runs, in the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League on Saturday.
He stole the limelight by taking eight wickets for just 37 runs in 16.2 overs, as the shell-shocked visitors were skittled for a paltry 68.
And reflecting on his heroics, Comber said it felt great to pay back the club that has been such a big part of his cricketing life.
“Clacton have supported me for a long time, ever since I was playing age-group cricket,” said the 22-year-old.
“Helping them win games is my way of repaying them for looking after me."
