Reifer hoping to make a big impression

New signing Raymon Reifer hopes to make an explosive impact at Frinton Cricket Club.

The West Indian only jetted into England last week but, just 48 hours later, blasted a half-century on his debut against Mistley.

He also bowled an excellent, hostile spell – sparking hopes that he could be a big all-round talent for the coastal club this summer.

“I felt good and enjoyed my time at the crease,” said the 21-year-old, who was unable to prevent his side from losing by eight wickets, in the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division one contest at Ashlyns Road on Saturday.

“It’s just a pity I couldn’t score more, because we were probably 50 runs short and should have got past the 200-mark (instead of being all out for 169).

“From my point of view, it was a great start but disappointing to lose my first game."
