Frinton Cricket Club will begin their eagerly-awaited festival week with a match against an Essex Select XI.
The coastal side always start with a showpiece match and, in recent years, the Professional Cricketers’ Association have provided the opposition at Ashlyns Road.
This year, however, Frinton are trying something new and the match will take place on Sunday, July 29.
Cricket Week then continues with matches every day until Friday, August 3.
Monday’s spectacle will be a President’s XI v Gents of Essex contest, with other matches pitching the Gents of Frinton against a William Hartnell XI (July 31), the Gents Of Plaxtol (August 1), the Gents of Barking (August 2) and Lloyds of London (August 3).
Spectators are welcome and tickets/tables for lunch are now available.
To book, call John Tyrell on 07770 580877 or e-mail jtyrrell@talktalk.net
