Brightlingsea sailor Rupert White has been picked to represent Britain at this summer’s Youth Sailing World Championship.
The 17-year-old was chosen after the recent RYA Volvo Youth National Championships in North Wales.
He and crew Tom Britz caught the eye of selector Sarah Webb Gosling OBE.
The pair will now represent Britain in the World Championships, in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, between July 12 and 21.
“It’s fantastic to be selected for a second consecutive year running,” said Colne Community College pupil White.
