Clacton Rugby Club are determined to finish their season on a high – starting by taking another big scalp this weekend.
The Seasiders have just two Essex League division one fixtures left and welcome third-placed Maldon to Vista Road on Saturday.
The curtain then drops on the campaign with another home match, against Old Cooperians, on April 14.
Clacton are determined to win at least one of them to hopefully ensure themselves of fourth place in the table.
And having been looking over their shoulders at the relegation battle this time last year, that represents a season of major progress.
“Hopefully we can keep our grip on fourth spot,” said upbeat Seasiders skipper Jake Buxey.
“That would be an achievement and a boost for everyone, after finishing near the relegation spots last season."
