Brian first home in spring triathlon

FOUR members of Great Bentley Running Club took part in the annual Culford Sprint Triathlon.

The event consists of an 800-metre swim, 14-mile bike ride and 3.5-mile run.

Brian Telford was the first Bentley member home in a time of one hour, eight minutes and 46 seconds, beating rival Paul Blackwell by two seconds.

Frank Gardiner followed with a time of 1h 11m 23s and Simon Price in 1h 12m 56s.

Next weekend, Blackwell will be competing in his first-ever Ironman in Bolton.
