A HOLLAND Shore Amateur Boxing Club coach who once fought Sugar Ray Leonard at Madison Square Garden has been inducted into the British Ex-Boxers Hall of Fame.

Holland-on-Sea’s Graham Moughton, who incredibly took part in more than 300 bouts during his boxing career, was honoured at a special event.

The 74-year-old, who boxed for three different countries - England and Great Britain, Bermuda and Denmark along with the only ever British Commonwealth team - coached the likes of Nigel Benn, Colin Lynes and Alfred Kotey as a professional trainer.

Graham first started boxing at the age of nine for Monteagle ABC and while there, won the National Schoolboy Championships three years running, after triumphing in 1962, 1963 and 1964.

In 1973, Graham boxed at the North American Championships in Milwaukee, for Bermuda.

He reached the finals, losing out to a Puerto Rican boxer, on a split decision.
