HOLLAND FC assistant manager Steve Davis believes his club are starting to make a name for themselves - and believes opposing teams should fear visiting their Eastcliff "fortress".

The coastal side continued their eye-catching start to the new Thurlow Nunn League division one south campaign with a 5-0 romp against Newbury Forest on Saturday.

Billy Wales, Lewis Blanchett, Joe Martin, Keelan Sorrell and Steve Eaton scored their goals at the W&S Scaffolding Community Stadium.

It was Holland's second big home victory, having kicked-off with a 3-0 success against Braintree Town Reserves.

And it continued their unbeaten start to the campaign, with those home fixtures sandwiched by a 1-1 draw at Harwich and Parkeston last Tuesday.

Davis is impressed and said: "It was another brilliant win on Saturday.

"We dominated the play, took our chances and managed the game well throughout both halves.

"We want to turn our home ground into a fortress, so teams start to fear coming to play us.

"People will start to take notice of our home performances, seeing as we've scored eight goals in two games.

"We know we're a good outfit going forward and also in terms of defending, having been delighted to keep two clean sheets at home.

"Everyone at the club is absolutely buzzing right now."

Holland hit the road again on Saturday for a Thurlow Nunn League fixture at Frenford Senior.

Then, on Friday, August 24, they have another Tendring derby, this time at Brightlingsea Regent Reserves.
