NEW champions have been crowned in the Clacton Singles League.

It was the league's biggest-ever season, with 114 players competing across seven pool divisions, three snooker divisions and two American nine-ball pool divisions at Pot Black, in Pier Avenue.

Shaun Storry emerged as champion of the Pool Singles League and completed a double by winning the League Cup.

Frinton's Jake Keen was crowned champion of the Snooker Singles League for the first time, beating club owner Aidan Owens.

Owens, however, could not be beaten in the new nine-ball pool category and took the top prize, with Matt Povey runner-up.

The Clacton Singles League is a snooker and pool competition open to all players of any ability.

It is played in a league format but players play as individuals rather than teams.

Entry is now open for the new season, which starts in July.
