HOLLAND FC assistant boss Steve Davis says the club's players have been challenged to lay down a marker for next season.

The Thurlow Nunn League first division side are already looking forward to next term, when they will be moving back to their revamped Eastcliff base.

And Davis says the players have a chance to make sure they are part of the plans by impressing in the closing weeks of the season.

It is a challenge they appear to be embracing, being unbeaten in four matches, winning three of them and plundering 14 goals.

Their most recent success was a 4-1 success at home to Leiston Reserves on Saturday.

Steve Eaton scored twice and he was joined on the scoresheet by Keelan Sorrell and substitute Matthew Williams.

"The boys have done very well in the last few weeks," said Davis, who works alongside Rob Batten.

"We've put a few things in place to help the team and they appear to be paying off at the moment.

"Everything seems to have clicked and long may that continue.

"It's nice to be winning games again - something that will stand us in good stead for next season.

"It's going to be a big year for the club, moving back to Eastcliff.

"And we've told the boys to make sure they're part of the plan here - to lay down a marker, knuckle down and do what we're asking of them.

"Thankfully, it's a challenge they've really embraced and although nothing concrete will be decided on players' futures until the summer, this is a good opportunity to show they're worthy of staying."

Holland were due to play Whitton United last night in a fixture originally scheduled to take place at the Rush Green Bowl.

However, it was switched to Whitton's King George V Playing Field.

Holland host Swaffham Town on Saturday and Diss Town on Tuesday.

And Davis is hoping his side's strong form continues until the end of the campaign.

"It's been very refreshing," he said.

"The last few weeks have been incredibly difficult, having gone through a spell when we weren't picking up many points.

"You start to question yourself and the decisions you're making.

"But you have to take the rough with the smooth and I think that's natural in any walk of life - be it football or otherwise."

Holland also have home matches to come against Norwich CBS and Framlingham Town, before finishing with a trip to Wisbech St Mary.
