FRINTON Golf Club seniors' captain Roy Stevenson hosted his Christmas Bonanza.

Although there was a wet start, the sun came out to spur the players on.

The turnout was good, with 42 men participating, and Mike Reynolds won with 38 points.

Phil Townsend was awarded second place on countback, with 36 points, ahead of third-placed Steve Phillips.

The monthly Friday stableford open to all Havers Course members took place and the scores were quite remarkable.

Rob Long won with an amazing score of 50 points and Nigel Anderson came second with 42.

Wayne Ross finished third, with 39 points.

All handicaps were promptly reduced - Long’s by a whopping three shots.

The ladies also played a stableford competition on their day.

Angela Vaughan was the winner with 33 points.

Four ladies finished with 31 points, with Judith Little awarded second place on countback, with Joan Stevenson third.

The previous week the ladies played a greensomes stableford.

Ginny Richardson and Jan McLellan were in first place with 34 points.

Three pairs scored 32 points, with Linda Hayles and Yvonne Davies awarded second place on countback, ahead of Barbara Thorpe and Julia Walshaw.

The men’s 2017 trophies were presented at a lunch last Saturday.

The club champion is Kevin Smith.
